Car chase on Walden Road kills two
by Shauna S.M. Bauer

DPS Troopers investigating the scene of a tragic accident on Walden Road that left two men dead. The location of the accident happened at the border of City of Conroe ETJ and where Precinct 1 Maintenance begins, causing some discussion on who would be responsible for the investigation.
The accident started within the county's responsibility and ended in Conroe's ETJ.
Montgomery Fire Department were first on scene and held the area until the investigation was completed by Conroe PD.

Two young Montgomery men were killed in a horrific car crash on Walden Road last Wednesday as they chased a female in a second car.
The high speed chase killed William Scott Thompson, 23 and Richard Lane Allen Jr., 22, both of Montgomery, when they hit a garbage truck head-on. They were pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the peace Pct. 1, Lanny Moriarity.
Officials with the Conroe Police Department said Thompson was driving his black Mazda passenger car southbound on Walden Road when he crossed over into the northbound lanes of oncoming traffic and smashed into the garbage truck. Thompson and his passenger, Allen, were killed upon impact; the driver of the garbage truck was uninjured.
Witness statements at the scene indicated Thompson's vehicle was chasing another car occupied by a female at the time of the accident. The woman told police she had encountered the two men at a convenience store in Walden, and that she did not know them. According to the woman, Thompson and Allen followed her from the store and began changing lanes and driving erratically to catch up with her. Her vehicle was not involved in the accident.
Thompson's vehicle was damaged so severely, that officers at the scene could not initially identify the car's make and model. Montgomery Fire Department firefighters used the Jaws of Life to remove sections of the victim's vehicle and extract their bodies. They were transported by Metcalf Funeral Home to the Southeast Texas Forensic Center in Conroe.
Evidence at the scene led officers to believe the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed exceeding Walden Road's posted limits. Autopsies performed at the Forensic Center concluded massive blunt force trauma as the cause of the death. An investigation is continuing. Sgt. Bob Berry with the Conroe Police Department said additional details and toxicology results were not readily available early this week.
