Singer Isaac Satterwhite brought the house down when he entertained the April Sound Ladies Association for their luncheon meeting. The theme was “Go Texan,” and the tables were decorated with bandanas, bluebonnets and Texas longnecks. Prizes were awarded for the best western outfits, with Marie Adams winning for the classiest, Dianne Burghart for the classic western look and Luine Hancock for the most outlandish western.
Satterwhite has a day job; he is Vice-President of Operations for Coupling Specialties, Inc., an oilfield service company. But evenings and weekends find him singing at a variety of functions, including opry houses. He is working on a debut album, and many April Sounders will be lined up to purchase it.
The singer said he has been influenced by George Strait, Brooks & Dunn and Johnny Cash. He really puts soul into the lyrics he is singing, and it kept the Ladies Association applauding.
The April Sound Men’s Club had 66 present for their February luncheon meeting, which was great for a second meeting. They already have a membership of 75 and they are just getting started.
Chris Ramariz, Special Crime Scene Investigator for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, was the guest speaker, and she gave the group some insight into what happens when they arrive on the scene.
Special interest groups have been formed with Foster Needles heading up Genea-logy, Clyde Earnest an invest-ment group, and Shannon Roberts leading a computer group. Others are in the works.
The next April Sound Men’s Club luncheon is March 27 with County Judge Alan B. Sadler as speaker. He will give the men an update on what is happening around the county. |
