April Sound UpBeat by JJB The April Sound Ladies Association opened their doors for the community to enjoy their own unique Christmas decorations.
The mood for Christmas was set when the April Sound Church choirs presented a Christmas pageant. A manger filled with straw was prominent at the alter and behind it was a star shining brightly. The story of Christ’s birth was recreated in narrative and song and as always the children’s choirs had an appreciative audience.
After the meaningful program everyone adjourned upstairs to the Fellowship Hall for a pot luck dinner. Then the hearty souls jumped on a hayrack to carol around the community.
Four members of the April Sound Ladies Association opened their homes for a holiday home tour and a turnout crowd enjoyed the hostesses’ Christmas decorations. Opening their doors were Barbara Johnson, Fay Kragh, Charlene Long and Dot Smith. Each were a unique reflection of the owners.
After the tour Marvelle Finch invited anyone who desired to drop by and look at jewelry. Marvelle and her husband Gene own Celebrity Jewelry and many of us accepted her invitation and noshed on Christmas goodies while we looked at costume jewelry and selected Christmas gifts.
The park around the POA building is shaping up due to the hard work of volunteers. They had another work day Saturday. Volunteers really do improve the world around them and we are grateful. The Notables, a group from the Montgomery County Choral Society, performed for the December luncheon meeting of the April Sound Ladies Association. Christmas wouldn’t be the same without the incredible music of the season. |
