April Sound may not be an art colony
but we certainly have a richness of
talented artists. They had an exhibit of
their work on a pleasant Sunday afternoon
in the Lakeside Room of April Sound
Country Club. The club generously provided
a wine and cheese for the artists and the
visitors. Several hundred people came and
went.
In all 20 artists showed their work and
it covered the spectrum from oil painting
to etched glass. Many of our artists are
in the Conroe Art League and bring home
ribbons from competitions.
We are proud of them all and many of us
proudly hang art from April Sound artists
in our homes.
There is some heavy duty shopping going
on among the Ladies Association members
and it is to help children and seniors in
nursing homes who might otherwise be
forgotten. We take a Salvation Army name
or several names and hit the
shops to fill their Christmas wish
list. All of the brightly wrapped comes
back and are put under the tree for our
December meeting. It’s an impressive
sight.
