April Sound UpBeat
April Sound volunteers add to the quality of life for many. Charles Reed is working again at the Friendship Center in Conroe for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. He is there every Monday 9 a.m. until 12 noon, to help people do their own tax return. Other volunteers are George Danner, co-manager, Roswald McMullen, Hope Lorch and Virginia Danner. Taxpayers wishing to avail themselves of this service should bring the tax packet they received in the mail, their W-2 Forms and 1099's and receipts and other records to support exemptions and deductions. A copy of last year’s tax return is very helpful and should be provided if available.
Mary Rivet developed the web site for the Montgomery County Performing Arts Society and she updates it often. It has brought many compliments to MCPAS and is a great convenience for people who want to know about upcoming events. And speaking of MCPAS events, Doris Wright attended the Ink Spots concert. She heard the original group some 40 years ago and had an autographed picture. The original four in the quartet have died and been replaced but the group keeps the same songs and sound. She posed with the current Ink Spots and one of them held her picture of the originals. Their manager sent Doris a picture of the Ink Spots which all of them had signed for her. |
