April Sound Upbeat
April Sound Church held a ground breaking for an addition to the church which is now underway. Participating were Marvin Carter and Alice Stagner representing the church board. Powell Campbell and Lou Clark for the congregation, Howard Slater for the Property Owners Association and Paul Belcher representing April Sound Country Club. The first floor of the addition will contain a large dining/fellowship hall complete with a pantry, kitchen and storage areas, plus Sunday School classrooms for grades first through sixth. Second floor facilities include a large multi-purpose area, Sunday School rooms for junior and senior high students and additional storage. The church addition is being constructed by Walaminga Construction Company and is expected to be completed within six months. In a bit of coincidence Walaminga is also the construction company who will be doing the Montgomery Trace Center in Montgomery. |
