CRUISIN’ CAPE CONROE

OPEN HOUSE A SUCCESS!

Residents of Cape Conroe gathered at the clubhouse to view the new pictures and improvements recently completed. Those attending liked the photographs of Cape Conroe and Lake Conroe in its early stages. Evelyn Parzyck donated a picture of the Old River Bridge before Lake Conroe was built. Catherine Woodruff donated several photos taken around her home before she had neighbors. Stella Stout donated a beautiful sunset photograph taken from the deck of her home with her sister, Della Carson. Jane Laake and I also donated photographs of Lake Conroe that were added to the collages. The photos were arranged around other shadow boxes representing the lake and fishing activities.
The Clubhouse Committee also selected several pictures showcasing bluebonnets and Texas Wildflowers. The photos were purchased at the Olde School House, Front Porch Friends and other shops in Montgomery. A favorite display of everyone was the Texas Flag with the plaque denoting 'Montgomery, Texas Birthplace of the Texas Flag.'
Thanks to the Clubhouse Committee members for their diligence and caring to decorate the clubhouse with photos and items from the Montgomery and Lake Conroe area. The committee members are Chairman, Jane Laake, Carol Clary, Cile Murray, Betty Radcliffe, Marty Sanford, Kathy Sterling, and Rose Ann Zolka. The committee also furnished delicious snacks and refreshments for the guests.
Special Thanks also to the Cape Conroe Ladies' Society, and the Cape Conroe Property Owners' Association Board of Directors for their financial contributions.
Fifteen members of the Ladies Society enjoyed the Birthday Lunch at DeAngelo's last week. Birthday honorees were Rosie Besch and Kathy Sterling. Everyone agreed the food was delicious and are anxious to return with their families.
Happy 9th Anniversary wishes to Dick and Lue Smith. They celebrated their anniversary with dinner at the Steak and Ale. Attending the celebration were their friends Richard and Jean Henderson, Joe and Bernice Antczak and Jerry and Rose Wroblewski.
Tuesday, March 2nd is the monthly meeting of the Cape Conroe Ladies' Society. Bring a baby picture for a fun afternoon. Ruth Zwimpfer and Rosie Besch are hostesses, so we will enjoy great desserts.
Until next week take care, be safe and give someone a hug! Have a Great Week!
