CONGRATULATIONS DOUG BRYANT!

Congratulations to Doug Bryant on winning several competitions at the Special Olympics recently held at the Montgomery Junior High School and in Oak Ridge. Doug won first place in the long jump. He also won ribbons in second, third and fourth place in several running events. The manager of the Nike Store at the Outlet Mall was on hand in Montgomery to give the athletes a big hug at the completion of their events.
Doug and his mother, Desiree Bryant, and grandmother, Peri Beall, enjoyed attending the Montgomery fair last week. Doug had a great time watching the rodeo, riding all the rides and eating hot dogs with all the trimmings.
Happy 17th Birthday wishes to Tommy Bryant. Tommy's family celebrated with a family dinner followed by cake and ice cream. Tommy's girl friend, Krystal Cameron, attended the family celebration.
Members of the Cape Conroe Ladies' Society enjoyed touring the home of Ima Hogg at Bayou Bend in Houston last week. The tour guide gave details about the furnishings, dishes and paintings in each room. The gardens and grounds were vibrant with color from flowers and azaleas in full bloom.
Everyone enjoyed lunch at Otto's BarBQue on Memorial Drive where they looked at pictures of previous customers who are wellknown athletes and celebrities lining the wall. The group also took time to drive through the River Oaks area to admire the beautiful azaleas and homes in that area.
Thanks to Dorotha Guinn, Trip Committee Chairman, who organized the tour. Thanks also to Dick Smith and Gene Montgomery for their assistance with the trip to Houston.
Samantha and Amber Neels are the proud owners of their first puppy. Lillie, a small mixed breed pup, is making herself at home among the family and their two cats.
Saturday, April 3rd is the monthly meeting of the Cape Conroe Mens' Club. The Nominating Committee will present a slate of officers for 2004. This is a great way to meet your neighbors and enjoy a cup of coffee and a donut. The meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. at the clubhouse.
Tuesday, April 6th is the annual Blue Bonnet Trip for members of the Cape Conroe Ladies' Society. Meet at the clubhouse at 10:00 a.m. to drive to College Station to tour the George Bush Library in College Station.
Until next week take care, be safe and give someone a hug! Have a Great Week!
