CRUISIN’ CAPE CONROE

April 21, 2004
ANNUAL CHARITY YARD SALE & BAKE SALE!
Friday and Saturday, April 23rd and 24th the Cape Conroe Ladies' Society will host their annual Yard Sale and Bake Sale at the Cape Conroe clubhouse from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. A large variety of items from toys, household, furniture, clothes, and assorted items will be available. The wonderful cooks of the ladies society will provide delicious treats to satisfy your sweet tooth!
All proceeds from the Ladies Society Yard and Bake Sale go towards local charities. The clubhouse is located at 17 Leisure Lane. Drop by for a cup of coffee and donuts.
On May 1st, Gene Montgomery will give a presentation to the Cape Conroe Mens' Club on activities of the 2nd Infantry Division during the attempt to take "Old Baldy" during the Korean Conflict. Last summer in Colonial Williamsburg, Gene assisted his old Company Commander in making this presentation to two different groups commemorating the 50th anniversary of the end of that conflict. He has numerous transparencies and personal photographs, so other veterans of that era may find this presentation particularly interesting. The meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Cape Conroe clubhouse.
Happy 53rd Anniversary wishes to George and Bettye Weekley. They celebrated their anniversary with a shopping trip to Conroe.
Leo and Desiree Bryant are very excited these days that their daughter and soninlaw, Desiree Sarah and Kevin Cobb, and grandson have returned to the Montgomery area to live. Kaleb Tanner Cobb was born on January 12th in California, but is adapting to living in Texas!
According to proud great grandma, Peri Beall, Kaleb is the sweetest and best baby ever. She has not even heard him cry! Peri is also happy to have her granddaughter and family living close by again.
Until next week take care, be safe and give someone a hug! Have a Great Week!
