Men's Club New Officers

Congratulations to the 20042005 officers for the Cape Conroe Mens' Club. The officers are: President Earl MacCartney, Vice President George Weekley, Secretary and Treasurer Rusty Denner. Special thanks go to Ken Jost who nourished his idea of a Men's Club for Cape Conroe residents into a productive organization. Mark your calendar for the first Saturday of each month to join the Men's Club for coffee, donuts, interesting programs and fellowship.
Ken and Betty Jost recently attended Betty's high school reunion and homecoming in Hillsboro, Kansas. Alumni from all the past graduating classes attend the annual celebration. Betty was the only alumnus representing her class of 1939.
Ken and Betty had a great time visiting friends and family during their stay. They enjoyed pleasant weather during their drive to Kansas, but drove through terrible storms in Oklahoma on their way home.
Happy Birthday wishes to Peri Beall. Peri began celebrating her birthday with lunch at the Chinese Restaurant in Montgomery with her daughter, Desiree Bryant, and grandson Doug. The family celebrated with a steak dinner complete with birthday cake.
Leo and Desiree Bryant are enjoying a visit with Leo's sister, Tara Edwards, and her son Kyle from Nebraska. Leo's sister, Fran Cates, and two sons are here from Austin. They will be attending a family reunion in Waco.
Tommy Bryant and his girl friend, Krystal, are among fourteen members of the youth group from Montgomery Baptist Church who are in Mexico helping to build a church.
Senior Friends members enjoyed a night of music in Houston as they attended the Houston Symphony performance of 'Shall We Dance.' Attending from Cape Conroe were Evelyn Parzyck, Rose Ann Zolka, Shirley Filicky. Shirley's friend, Mary Ann Clunen, visiting from Ohio also attended.
Rose Ann told me the bus ride to Jones Hall took a mini tour of points of interest in Houston. The symphony performed dance music from the 40's and 50's with dancers performing several routines. The dancers taught several audience members how to do the Charleston, which they performed along with the symphony. Rose Ann told me the music was wonderful and had everyone tapping his or her feet to the music.
Art and Cile Murray's daughter, Lynn Murray, volunteers at the local hospital in Cottonwood, Arizona to care for animals of patients during their hospital stay. The "Home Alone Zoo Pet Sitting Program" is coordinated between the Volunteer Services Program at the hospital and the local Humane Society.
Tuesday, June 15th, the Ladies Society Birthday Lunch Bunch will meet at the Bluebonnet and Rose Restaurant in the Westin Building to celebrate the June birthdays.
Until next week take care, be safe and give someone a hug! Have a Great Week!
