HAPPY BIRTHDAY HELEN WHITE
Happy
Birthday wishes to Helen White. Helen and her husband, Louis, celebrated her
birthday with a family dinner at Vernon's Country Catfish Café. Attending the
celebration were their daughter, Charma Blount, from Huntsville and daughter and
son-in-law, Sandy and Charles Turner, from Lake Jackson. The family returned to
the White's home for delicious home baked birthday cake where they were joined
by Louis and Helen's grandson and his wife, Brian and Jennifer Turner, and great
grandchildren, Christian and Hailey.
Dorotha Guinn's grandson, David Scogin, recently spent a week in San Benito,
Texas with the youth group from the Conroe Church of Christ. The group, led by
the youth minister, Jeff Phillips, painted homes for the house parents and the
children who reside at the Sunny Glen Children's Home. One group built two
gazebos for outdoor activities. David told me that the group worked hard, but
they also had a lot of fun during their stay.
Ruth Zwimpfer, Rosie Besch, and Merle Rorax recently returned from a trip to
Tulsa, Oklahoma and other cities. Merle attended the monthly breakfast for
retired post office employees. The three siblings stopped in Lawton, their birth
home, to see the many changes over the years. The home they grew up in is now a
medical center. Their last stop was in Duncan to visit a cousin before heading
home to Cape Conroe.
Saturday, July 3rd is the monthly meeting for the Cape Conroe Mens' Club. Join
them at 9:30 a.m. for donuts, coffee and an interesting program.
Have a safe and happy Fourth of July!
Until next week - take care, be safe and give someone a hug!
Have a Great Week!
