Happy Birthday Ede Rogers!
Happy 3rd Birthday wishes to Ede Rogers. Ede celebrated her birthday with a party hosted by her parents Tony and Wendy Rogers at the Cape Conroe clubhouse. Those attending received gift bags with beach balls and sunglasses for the swimming party. Ede's stepsister, Brittany, attended along with her grandparents Fred E. Kaechele and Mary Phillips and great grandfather Fred Kaechele, Jr., and several friends and family members.
Art and Cile Murray attended the wedding of their granddaughter Sharon Vanek to Byron Schmidt at the First United Methodist Church in Houston on July 17th. The reception following the ceremony was at the Majestic in Houston.
The Majestic at one time was a movie theater before being renovated for private parties. The seating area was transformed into an elegant ballroom for dancing and the catered dinner. White tablecloths and roses decorated the tables. The marquee honored Sharon and Byron with their names in lights.
Preceding the wedding Art and Cile attended the rehearsal dinner at the Petroleum Club in Houston. Sharon and Byron made Art and Cile feel very special at each of the occasions for their wedding. Sharon is the daughter of Kenneth and Karen Vanek.
Cile and her family who attended the wedding spent a fun day at Galveston Beach last week. The group relaxed after the wedding festivities with a picnic on the beach. Attending the wedding and Galveston trip were Robert and Lynn Duke from Arizona, Karen Vanek, Dana Murray, Teresa, Rick and Morgan Murray from New Orleans, and granddaughter Laura Champions with her daughter Reyna.
They had a great time playing in the water on a beautiful day that was just right with not too much sun or humidity.
Congratulations to George Abney on being elected to Senior Warden of the Montgomery Lodge #25. George, a member of the masons for fortyeight years, has been on officer with the Montgomery Lodge for the past three years.
Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society presented a flag to the Montgomery Fire Department Cape Conroe Station #52. If interested in a Flag presentation for your nonprofit organization, please contact Pamela Hackney at 9365209061.
The Cape Conroe Ladies' Society Birthday Lunch Bunch celebrated the July birthdays with lunch at the Ming Restaurant in Montgomery last week. Twelve members of the ladies society attended the delicious buffet lunch including birthday honoree, Bettye Weekley.
Tuesday, August 2nd at 2:00 p.m. is the monthly meeting for the Cape Conroe Ladies' Society at the Cape Conroe clubhouse. Invite your neighbors and plan to attend.
