CRUISIN’ CAPE CONROE

August 25, 2004
Congratulations Tom & Carolyn
Carolyn Troyer and Thomas Zielsdorf exchanged marriage vows Saturday afternoon at St Mary's Catholic Church in Plantersville. In addition to the traditional wedding vows the bride and groom wrote their own vows appropriate to them for their special day.
Lynn Coffman played the violin accompanied by Carol Gessner on the piano. They played a selection of beautiful love songs before the ceremony. Carolyn's brother escorted her down the aisle to Bach's arrangement of Ava Maria. Carolyn's sister was the Matron of Honor and Tom's son was Best Man. Family members read the scripture passages during the ceremony.
Carolyn and Tom hosted a reception at the Walden Yacht Club. The beautifully decorated room was filled with love, laughter and lots of congratulations for the newly weds. Everyone enjoyed the delicious buffet lunch and the large assortment of desserts.
Attending the wedding and reception from Cape Conroe were Peri Beall, Wayne and Lynn Coffman and I. Past residents Fred and Dot Stetson also attended along with many friends and family members.
Betty Radcliffe recently returned from Dublin, Ohio where she visited her daughter and soninlaw, Lynn and Mark Adams, and grandchildren Michael and Shelly. She had a great time relaxing, eating out and spending time with her family. Michael, a freshman in high school, learned that he made the school golf team. Shelly, a proficient cheerleader, showed Betty her difficult cheers.
They attended the 17th Annual Share the Spirit Dublin Irish Festival. The annual festival is an array of arts, crafts, Irish music, food and dancing. They watched the sand sculpture contest and the Dublin Pasture where border collies herd flocks of sheep.
The weather was quite chilly for summer as they set several records for the lowest temperatures.
