CRUISIN’ CAPE CONROE
by Marty Sanford
September 1, 2004
Happy Birthday Jane Laake
Jane Laake opened the door of the Cape Conroe clubhouse expecting to meet me and see the television had been vandalized. What she found inside the clubhouse were twentyfive of her friends and family members who shouted, "Surprise," followed by singing Happy Birthday. Jane's daughter, Delaine Neels, hosted the surprise party with Jane's friend Susie Rimes. Delaine prepared a variety of sandwiches and appetizers served with an assortment of teas for the afternoon tea party. Delaine and Susie entertained the group with golden oldies music and several fun games.Jane served the beautifully decorated birthday cake to complete a fun afternoon. Family members attending the party were Darlene Wells, Gloria Ussery, and LeAnna Prwitt.
Happy Birthday wishes to Amber Neels. Amber's parents, Todd and Delaine, hosted a birthday party for her at McDonald's in Montgomery. Everyone had a great time playing and climbing in the play area before they ate lunch and birthday cake. Amber's sister, Samantha, and cousins, Paige and Darby, attended along with several friends and her grandparents, Milton and Jane Laake, and aunt Marla Ringo.
Fifteen members of the Ladies Society Birthday Lunch Bunch enjoyed lunch at Hyden's Steak and Seafood Restaurant to celebrate the August Birthdays. Birthday honorees attending were Jane Laake and Cile Murray.
