CRUISIN’ CAPE CONROE

September 15, 2004
Happy 65th Anniversary Lester & Olivia
Happy 65th Anniversary wishes to Lester and Olivia Roberts. The Roberts celebrated their anniversary by spending a few days in Galveston. They enjoyed a celebratory dinner at Landry's Seafood Restaurant. Their children Oliver and Carla Roberts, Gary and Barbara Roberts and Cathey and Bob Leonard treated Lester and Olivia Roberts to an anniversary dinner at the Walden Yacht Club.
Congratulations to Lester Roberts on his recent retirement. Lester retired from Tenneco twenty years ago then started consulting for Enterprise Products in Baytown. He is looking forward to spending time with his wife, family and being active in Cape Conroe again.
Happy 58th Anniversary wishes to Art and Cile Murray. They quietly celebrated their anniversary with dinner at home.
Ben and Carol Clary celebrated their 40th anniversary on the Carnival Cruise Ship Elation. The luxury liner stopped in Progresso, Cozumel and Belize, Central America. Thirtytwo friends of the Clary's from several different bridge clubs also went on the cruise that left from Galveston. The group played bridge for several hours every day. A Disney Cruise Ship docked in Cozumel unable to reach Orlando because of Hurricane Frances. It also went to Galveston to avoid the storm. Ben and Carol had a wonderful anniversary cruise. They were glad the weather did not interfere. Congratulations on your 40th Anniversary!
Happy August Birthday wishes to Cile Murray. The Murray's children, grandchildren and great granddaughter treated Cile and her husband, Art, to a day of shopping at the Galleria and lunch at the Cheesecake Factory.
Happy Birthday wishes to Betty Gregory. Betty's son took her out to dinner to celebrate. She also had several lunches with friends.
Jane Laake attended Grandparent's Day festivities at her granddaughter's schools. She started the morning at Stewart Creek where she divided her time between Samantha and Amber Neels classrooms. Then went to Ford for lunch with Darby Ringo.
Thanks to Cile Murray for the demonstration and information on the making of stained glass at the Cape Conroe Ladies' Society meeting last week. Cile, who previously owned two stained glass shops, showed us the many steps in working with stained glass. She also displayed several of her pieces of stained glass. Thanks also to Cile and Lynn Coffman for serving as hostess and preparing delicious snacks for everyone.
Until next week take care, be safe and give someone a hug! Have a Great Week!
