NICHOLAS OSBORNE, NAVY SEAL
Gene and Marlene Osborne received a special invitation from the Commanding Officer of Naval Special Warfare Center at Coronado Island, California to attend the graduation of their grandson, Nicholas Osborne, from Navy Seal School. Marlene's voice still rang with pride in her grandson as she spoke those words to me about watching their grandson become a Navy Seal.
Nicholas, 19, completed the Navy Seal School after being in the navy for eighteen months. He was the only nineteenyearold to complete the class of fortyfive who graduated. Nicholas is now in Georgia attending Jump School then he will go to Kodiak, Alaska for cold weather training, to California for advanced training before he is stationed in Virginia Beach.
Also attending the graduation were Nicholas's parents, Jerry and Le Anna Osborne, and his siblings, Kimberly, Kyle and Matthew and his grandparents, Dale and Margaret Fields.
Gene, Marlene and the other family members stayed at the Navy Lodge on Coronado Navy Base on the beach. They enjoyed several sight seeing tours during their visit.
Milton and Jane Laake hosted a Thorp Family Reunion for Jane's family last week. Thirty family members attended from the Houston area, Austin and Georgia. Jane's siblings and their spouses attending were Jo Marie and Eugene Lang, Tully and Dana Thorp, Linda and Jay Hill, and Bobby Thorp. Several nieces and nephews attended including Robert and Cindy Thorp and their two children.
Jane's daughters their husbands, Delaine and Todd Neels, and Marla and Eddie Ringo and their families also attended.
The family enjoyed playing badminton and croquet outside. The Laake's granddaughters, Samantha and Amber, performed a dance routine to the delight of everyone. Their granddaughter Darby Ringo and others treated the group to a puppet show.
The day passed too quickly for the annual event, but everyone had a great time visiting, laughing and eating a lot of delicious food.
Congratulations to Betsy McKernen on opening her law office on West Davis in Conroe. Betsy will specialize in Business Law, Mediation and Wills. Betsy and her husband, Steve, have two daughters, Hannah and Madeline.
Please vote for the board of directors and alternates and mail your proxy to Kingwood Association Management, if you do not plan to attend the Annual Property Owners' Meeting on Sunday, October 2nd.
Until next week take care, be safe and give someone a hug! Have a Great Week!
