Annual POA Meeting Sunday 2pm

Sunday, October 3rd is the Annual Property Owners Meeting at 2:00 p.m. at the clubhouse. Three new members and two alternates for the Board of Directors will be elected at the meeting. Running for a director's position to serve three years are Howard Collier, Bill Eldridge, Betty Radcliffe and Paul Rex. Larry Bates is running for one of the alternate positions. You may select from the above slate or write in your selection.
Current board members are Betty Radcliffe, Paul Rex, George Abney, Richard Martin, Jane Laake, Paul Pittman, Rose Ann Zolka, Jay Pettiet and Larry Bates. Howard Collier served as an alternate this past year.
Board members and alternates donate their time to attend monthly meetings, serve on committees, attend committee meetings and report their recommendations and findings to the Board of Directors. Their goal is to serve the residents of Cape Conroe with diligence, fiscal responsibility and the wishes of those residents herein. Input from residents is crucial to help the board make the decisions that affect all residents. Regular monthly meetings are on the 2nd Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the clubhouse. All residents are urged to attend the annual meeting and the monthly meetings.
There is also a survey on the ballot this year of utmost importance to all residents in Cape Conroe concerning the neighborhood pool. Please mark your ballots and bring them with you to the meeting or send them with a neighbor so your vote will be counted.
If you did not receive a ballot and information sheet about the candidates, please contact Kingwood Association Management toll free at 18772135265 or me at 9364486917.
Ruth Zwimpfer and her siblings, Rosie Besch and Merle Rorax, recently returned from a road trip to California. They attended a surprise 90th birthday party for Merle's sisterinlaw, Ola Rorax, in Visalia, California. Their niece arranged for the surprise party for her mother. They had a wonderful time being a part of the surprise party, visiting and sight seeing.
Ruth, Rosie and Merle stopped in Phoenix to visit family and sight see on their way to California.
On their trip home they stopped in Las Vegas and Laughlin, Nevada to make a deposit at the casinos! Their last stop was in Dallas where they visited with Ola's brother and sisterinlaw who were unable to attend the party in California.
Bill and Pat Wren attended Grandparents Day at Covenant Christian School where their grandson, Spencer Shumate, is in Kindergarten. Each of the grades performed various songs and entertainment for the grandparents.
Thirteen members of the Ladies Society Birthday Lunch Bunch celebrated the September birthdays at LaCapilla Mexican Restaurant in Montgomery. The ladies enjoyed their delicious meals and recommend it to everyone. Betty Gregory was the September birthday honoree.
Tuesday, October 5th is the monthly meeting for the Cape Conroe Ladies' Society at 2:00 p.m. at the clubhouse. A representative from Senior Friends will provide information about the Senior Friends group from Conroe. This is a fun group that goes on several day trips around the area plus other over night trips around the country and abroad.
Until next week take care, be safe and give someone a hug! Have a Great Week!
