Thanksgiving Road Trip

Stella Stout and her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Jim Sterling, took a road trip to Denver, Colorado for the Thanksgiving holiday. Their first stop was in Zwolle, Louisiana where they were joined by Stella's granddaughter, Brandy Stout. As they drove through Dalhart, Texas, Stella shared with the family the story of how she met and married her husband and the events surrounding the arrival of Kathy.
The family gathered at the home of Stella's son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Donna Stout. Kathy and Stella were instrumental in bringing Brandy to the family Thanksgiving where she surprised her parents, Jack and Donna Stout, with her arrival. Thanksgiving Day as the family cited their many blessings and reasons to be thankful; they also thought about the families with loved ones who were fighting in the military. Stella enjoyed having Thanksgiving with her three children, Kathy, Jack and Eric and their families.
Jim and Brandy played in the snow for the first time. They had a great time in the beautiful fallen snow. Jim, Kathy, Stella and Brandy spent one day in Salida, Colorado where they visited long time friends and Wade Forester who had lived with Stella when he was growing up.
The beautiful snow was not so beautiful as Jim drove through it in Dalhart on their way home! They family had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday being together.
Thanks to members of the Cape Conroe Ladies' Society for decorating the Cape Conroe clubhouse for the Christmas holidays. Those who decorated the clubhouse were Jane Laake, Evelyn Parzyck, Rose Ann Zolka, Carol Clary, Stella Stout, Kathy Sterling and I.
Residents of Cape Conroe have the Holiday Spirit as they decorate their homes and yards with twinkling lights, Santa's and Snowmen. The Community Relations Committee will be driving through the neighborhood for the next ten days to judge the Holiday Decorating Contest. Please leave your lights on every night. Winners will be awarded on Saturday December 18th. Categories for the contest are Most Creative, Most Original, Best Lighting, Best Theme and Most Colorful.
Until next week -take care, be safe and give someone a hug! Have a Great Week!
