Who We Are

Setember 1, 2004

Bobville Express, Dobbin, Texas

New twins in Dobbin

Debbie Hoffart and Betty Kerr both are proud of a new set of twins in the Hoffart Clan.Betty is Mr. Frank Hoffart's sister as you all may know. They are from a big family, one of whom was their sister Clara who was married to Fred Wischnewski, both are deceased. They also had several children, one of whom is Janette who is married to James Pavlock. Now, they have children, one of whom is Kelly married to Darren and they are the proud parents of the premature twins who are doing good now. The babies were born in August and had to be watched very closely. Debbie and Barbara brought the twins blankets from St. Mary's that are specially blessed for sick babies and children. They had to lay them on the incubators at first and Kelly was so proud to have these special blankets from them for their babies.
I remember when I first started working at Hoffart's 25+ years ago Clara use to come in with one of her daughters to have their meat done. Clara passed away very suddenly a few days after Carol Hoffart Reissig was married. It was a real shock to everyone. She was a very sweet lady and I always enjoyed her visits to the store. I know she is smiling down at her granddaughter with her twin babies. We wish the whole family well and know they will enjoy Sam and Riley as
they continue to grow. I believe this makes them third cousins to Debbie and greatgreat nephew and niece to Betty and Mr. Hoffart. This family is continuing on and on....
I have really enjoyed a lot of the Summer Olympics from Greece. I saw some of the opening and I thought it was beautiful. I watched a lot of the competitions and enjoyed seeing it all. I was proud of all the competitors from our Country and the others as well. I feel like in general it was all done fairly, with them correcting the errors along the way. I watched the closing ceremonies and thought it was colorful. The 10 yr old orphan was really impressive in the part of extinguishing the flame. The Chinese put on a
really entertaining spot at the end after the Olympic Flag was turned over to them for the next Olympics. Those of us who were watching for two weeks may have withdrawals now. I'm sure we'll find something else to get interested in this week.
There is a big Family Reunion planned for September 11th, the second Saturday in September. The Payne/Hubbard/Hanes Families will get together on the land off of FM1486 between Dobbin and Dacus down from the Stewarts' land. All the families and their friends are invited to join in the fun and enjoy the good food they all help to prepare. Make plans to attend this big annual affair.
Mancle and Othella McShan celebrated their 15th Wedding Anniversary last Saturday, August 29th. We hope they had a good day and many more years to come. Our best wishes to you both.
Brandi McGee's big day was August 29th and she turned the big 21. We were told we needed to watch out, so since I haven't heard anything, I don't know what she meant by that. I hope that she had a really nice day.
The family of Jasper Hall wants to wish him a very happy and special birthday on September 3, 2004. Jasper will be turning 7 years old and they wish him a wonderful year in 1st grade. All best wishes from his Grandma Penny and Grandpa Jerry, little brother Andrew and little sister, Megan, and his Aunt Patricia and Uncle Anthony. We also send our "Happy Birthday" wishes to Jasper from Hoffart's Store.
Betty Kerr's granddaughter Jennifer and her friend, Christian, have returned from California to live back here in Texas. I believe this is a prayer answered. We are glad they decided Texas is the best place to live. They came to visit Betty a week ago and they went out to eat in Montgomery.
They really wanted to eat at the Heritage House, but it was Monday and it was closed. They enjoyed each other's company and that's what matters. Welcome home, Jennifer and Christian.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Joe Mock from Plantersville. Mr. Mock died on Sunday and his funeral was on Tuesday at St. Mary's in Plantersville. Mr. Mock was a very nice man who was always involved in the church. He will be greatly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren and all who knew him.
We also want to send well wishes to the locals who haven't been feeling well or are recovering from illnesses. Some of them are Rosie and Richard Davis, Annie Rosilier, Bill Malek, Mary Mock, Mrs. James Herzog and Uncle Robert Smith. Please keep all of them in your prayers along with anyone else you may know who may need our prayers.
I am working at Hoffart's more now as I am filling in for Debbie Mahon who was scheduled for surgery Tues. Aug. 31st. We should have more information on that next week. We hope all goes well for her and they can fix her up fast so she'll be back to Hoffart's before long. Our best wishes for a speedy recovery.
I was invited to go on a shopping spree in preparation for the Cruise I am going on in October with my sister, Pat, who is right under me in line. My daughters, Janette and Jacque and Janette's son, Michael made me shop until I was ready to drop. They fixed me up really good. I know my shoes and purse will be the hit of the ship. They also bought me some pretty shirts and a pair of pants. I should be about ready as I already have my passport and now plenty of clothes. Watch out world, here I come.
I hope everyone is settled back into the school routine and doing well.
One thing I have to complain about is the so called "love bugs". They are a real annoyance this year. They are not only everywhere outside, they are invading us inside. I really don't like those bugs. They must be good for something, but no one has told me what yet.
REMEMBER THIS WEEKEND IS THE ST. MARY'S HOMECOMING BAZAAR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a fun time for everyone who comes to enjoy the booths and the good BBQ Dinner. St. Mary's is located just outside of Plantersville. Turn North on 1774 and follow the signs. You'll be glad you did. Visit our beautiful Historical Painted Church. ALL ARE WELCOME
IN THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!! See you next week, right here.
