Local clergymen meeting and praying

Hey Ya’ll!
Wel,l its been a busy couple of weeks, I’ve had a lot going on, but have found some time to have a little fun in between.
First, I would like for ya’ll to know of an event coming up Saturda, Mar. 8 at Cedar Brake Park beginning at 11 a.m.. Brother Herb Campbell and Brother Joe Heijl of the Montgomery Cowboy Fellowship are hosting a prayer session which will involve local pastors and area notables. The purpose of the session will be to pray for our area youth here in Montgomery County and also youth across our nation. Local clergymen are hoping that this prayer service will reach out to the youth and guide them in a better direction about life. Brother Campbell pointed out a disturbing fact, that fact being the suicide rate among young people is rising at an alarming rate. Montgomery County’s figures are among the highest in the state according to Brother Campbell. Those that can, please attend this worthwhile event.
Another subject, many youth in our area are preparing for the 46th Annual Montgomery County Fair & Rodeo which begins Mar. 28 and continues through Apr. 6. Local 4-H and FFA leaders are getting prepared and are helping ready the exhibitors’ animals for show. This year’s fair promises to be a good one. So get out to the Montgomery County Fairgrounds and support our youth. Good luck to all that are involved and let’s pray for good weather!
Remember I told you I had some fun? Well, just recently I entertained some folks associated with Harlequin Romance Novels while they were at the Old Montgomery Steak House. The group consisting of seven lovely ladies, who were among a larger group staying at Del Lago Resort & Conference Center for a few days. The group of ladies I spoke with were from Japan, Australia, Canada and the United States. Thanks to Margie Mullin for including me in their activities. Before leaving they promised they would send me a boxed set of novels!
I guess the most exciting though was spending a few hours with my recov--ering “explosion friend” Charlie Stowe. As many of you know, Charlie’s motor home recently exploded in front of his house and Thank God he was not injured. Too bad his wife’s Valentine gift was in the vehicle, sure Charlie! We all believe that! Anyway, Charlie, myself, Double D (a.k.a. PH) and a couple of other good’ol boys spent several hours listening to Charlie’s collection of “Oldies But Goodies” music. We plan on doing it again soon.
It was great visiting with friends Jerry McHam and Bo Daniel’s and catching up on local happenings.
Has any of you noticed how quite its been around town? That’s because Bea has been in Switzerland ! Or as Bob says, “Bea Rouse Dot Com”.
From “Montgomery’s Sagebrush Philosopher” until next time. Good cow callin. Good frog giggin’ and Go Ags.
Adiós
