| Curran Events Howdy Ya’ll, thank goodness I’m out of Political Gas, it drained my brain to respond to all that "gibberish" that those few who have no clue as to what the real majority wants, has printed lately. One of my "roving" reporters did report to me about some complaints about our writing style and our "English Correctness". Let me just say this- I ain’t never professed ta be’n no "Po-lit-tical" correct writ’n merchine, but ruther I’m a fellar who enjoys hav’n fun with this here Anglish writ’n and besides, you Nu-Nu’s, I git a bunch more Atta Boys that like my writ’n than complaints-So There! Now I have a favor to ask all of the local business folks, parent (especially parents of FFA & 4-H exhibitors) friends of our area, doctors, lawyers, and civic groups. Find, seek out or call someone with the West Montgomery County Support Group and pledge some money to their cause. This is a group of dedicated, hard working, civic minded individuals who believe that the youth of our area is the most important aspect of our nations growth. Last Saturday, Jan. 26th the organization held its eleventh annual Fund Raising Party and many thanks to those who attended and participated in both the silent and live auctions. Many thanks to those who donated items to the auctions as there were many to choose from. Just in talking to some of the organizers they were a little disappointed with the results but still upbeat about using the funds to purchase entries that are sold at the Montgomery County Fair each year in March. More importantly, in addition to buying at the fair, the group also holds an annual "Freezer Sale" benefitting those exhibitors whose animals do not make the Fair Sale. Due to the growth of our County Fair the West Montgomery County Support Group is spending more funds at this event. Our West Montgomery County youth have been quite successful in recent years and the WMCSG takes pride in helping these youth. Because of this success it places more pressure on the "Kitty" so depending on the funds at the fair it could have an effect on the "Freezer Sale". In the past the WMCSG has tried to insure that all exhibitors in the MISD area receive at least the price that they paid for the animal with certain limitations imposed. All that attended certainly had a large time and gave freely but this writer would like to ask everyone that can to please dig a little deeper in your pockets and help the WMCSG in making the "coffers" a little healthier. Everyone understands that our economy is sluggish and that we just came out of the Holiday season, that tax time is close at hand and many have just "forked-out" hard earned money for property and school taxes but if this community will just spread the word it can help. Think of it this way- if two-thousand friends and neighbors will kick-in ten extra dollars (many of you spend that much on coffee and sweets each week) that would amount to twenty thousand extra bucks! So please help if you can. Speaking of the party’s the Second Annual Party for those born in January was held Friday, January 25th at the Community Center and from what I’ve been told by those who can remember, it was a blast! What’s this about two Stuarts and one Todd being the official "Color Guard" at the door. Heard The Ranger had to get all "dolled" up prior to arriving- that’s comb’n yer hare and run’n a rag oe’r yer boots- Way to go Ranger! My personal condolence’s go out to the Geisinger family for their loss, to Sandra, Sherri, Marilyn and Tina, I love ya’ll and I share your grief for I lost my Dad in 1998. To "Mama Earl" if you need anything call me! To my good friend and employer Monte West, condolences go out to you for the loss of your Grandma- May God Bless You All. Hey, Big Joe (his last name is the same as Ben’s, Adam, Hoss and Little Joe’s) it wern’t tha surgical pro-cee-dure you referred to, so to "quell" tha rumors you heard, it was because the Read-da-mun-sack was too close to the Grev-in-Jev-its, so it therefore precipitated the procedure which caused the addition of a wooden leg with a kickstand. Ya’ll figure that out! Ooooooooh, Tracy, Tracy, Tracy. A big howdy to my new friends at "Country Accent" met them Saturday, shore nice folks. Gina, old military style M-1 rifles with gernade launchers are illegal for hunting White-tail! Pockets, is everything okay with the MD4H. Ruthie, lets get us a Baby Sitter’s Certificate OK? And last but not least Ted Swell, Ted Swell, Ted Swell!!! From Montgomery’s Sagebrush Philosopher, Until Next Time. Good Cow Call’n. Good Frog Gigg’n and Go Ag’s. Adios |
