| Curran Events I’m at my desk Sunday, October 7th and once again we’ve sent young men and women of our military into "Harm’s Way". The events that have unfolded in the last few weeks make it increasingly difficult to write this article and until we get some stability back in our country and the world my normal "Poke-Fun", "Country Bumpkin" style will change. I watched in amazement as the "madman" Osama bin Laden thanked God? That all Americans would now live in fear because of American action! Fear, Fear he says, the ignorant SOB has no idea what fear is! He’s started something with the most powerful Nation in the world. The one thing I have noticed is the news coverage, I’m not seeing any "Helmet Cam’s" showing each and every round, no General standing beside a strategy board with a pointer showing the world our every move. Perhaps in the days to come this will change but hopefully it won’t! This "WAR" is different and secrecy needs to be a strategy that will insure our troops complete and total success. If we came out of Afghanistan without positively knowing that we have eliminated the "Enemy "brought them to their knees and have them pleading for surrender, then once again our leaders will have fought another Viet Nam or Desert Storm--Just some more lost lives with no clear cut victory! I would like to see Osama bin Laden on TV one last time, not dead, but rather begging and pleading to his followers that terrorism is not the answer, that he has mislead the people, that no God would support his methods, that his beliefs are not the true Islamic beliefs and that his actions were personal and wrong! Then in lieu of killing him, keep him in chains for the rest of his natural life, force him to face the families of his victims and use him to show the world that his methods will not be tolerated and to anyone or any government that supports them what has happened to him will be their ultimate end and well. I can just hear the "Champions of the Humane Treatment" preparing to storm my land--Be wary, I, like most all Americans are rathered p______ed of right now! Good luck to our troops and may God be with each and everyone of you and know that Americans back home are praying for your safety and that you will return to your families soon. Just a little about local happenings. To the parents of the 8th grade Purple and Gold football teams "I'm sorry that the Bear Branch articles were not in last weeks paper I know they mean a lot to the players. Support MCN by subscribing, buy the paper and give to a friend and if you get a chance go by and tell Monte and Regina that you appreciate their commitment to our community. If any of you see "Cowboy Bill Sallas" let him know that I will be putting his name in the paper soon. What’s this I hear about "Borax" (remember--Twenty-Mule team Borax?) Making a commercial out at Bo Daniels? Thanks to Edy (of Keller Williams) for commenting on my articles. Saw David Daniels last week driving one of those big trucks that bend in the middle. Hey Charlie, you and Todd are too quite! Bobby, whose "fault" was that! How about them Aggies, Mark just a thought.
