| Curran Events The last couple of weeks I, like many of you have tried to make sense of what may have provoked the senseless attacks on New York City, the Pentagon and the failed attempt, on what target, we’ll probably never know. From my viewpoint I do know this, the Middle East is a difficult area of the world to understand, those countries have fought each other for many years over it seems an endless list of causes and conflicts. They have fought for more years than the United States has been a nation. Personally, this country needs to get out a clean :Wash-Rag" a good "Bar of Soap" and cleanse from the inside. If you’ve been watching the news reports there may be many more "Cells" in our own country and some how we need to root them out! Osama bin Laden is surely a threat but he is also a "Sharp Cookie" and his death would doubtful end terrorism it may slow it down because of his wealth but it won’t end. Watching interviews with many Islamic leaders it seems that the biggest reason for attacking us--they hate Americans and are extremely upset by our support of Israel. Those who live by the Koran have a totally different viewpoint of human life than we do and its doubtful we’ll ever convince them that our way of life is superior to theirs. I am appalled at some of the questions that the media has asked our leaders lately. They want to know "who, what, where, and How we’re planning to attack" with today’s technology the enemy need only to sit back and wait for the answers, then lay in wait for the slaughter. WHO trained these people? I’m definitely not a Mid-East scholar, don’t pretend to be, but I see "Politics" written all over this dilemma and I thank my "Lucky Stars" that "Slick Willie" didn’t take our "Firearms" away from us as some "Liberals" wanted! There is no easy solution, no quick answer and before its all settled some feelings will get hurt, some civil rights may be taken away, just remember this--what about the Civil Rights of those who lost their lives in this horror? I just hope that all of us have learned from this and those who may be planning future attacks will think twice before acting...."Nuff Said". Locally, Bobby assures me that the "Dobbin Militia" is ready and the despite the "wants" of the media he’s not telling where they are training, who’s in, how many and what is their strategy. Maybe that’s why there was a sign up at the Fly’n I Ranch warning of mine fields ahead--you think? Visited Bo Daniels the other day and it was like stepping back in time. He’s working on several old wagons and has his shop looking like a western museum and he’s a true believer in preserving the ways of the Old West. Bo knows Cowboy. Saw the "Retired" former principal of Montgomery Junior High last week and Mr. Ogg is now substitute teaching--once its in your blood its hard to walk away--Gig’em to Mr. Mike Ogg. Hey ya’ll if you see "Cowboy" Bill tell him you saw his name in the paper! A Big Howdy to some I’ve not seen in a good while, Jimmy, Tom, Cole, "The Ranger" Price, Tommy Sullivan, Dr. Beverly, Dockey, Markey, "The Temptations", Gentry and Joe, "Gator", Mike (Regina’s better half) and others. From " Montgomery’s Sagebrush Philosopher" Until next time, Good Cow Call’n. Good Frog Gigg’n and Go Ag’s! Adios |
