Santa’s seen and other Christmas festivities

Current Chronicles
By Brett Bowen

Hey Yall- well welcome to the first installment of the Current Chronicles based on stories about the folks in and around Montgomery, including the towns of Dobbin and Dacus. The serials will about events some actual and some kinda real having taken place in the past and presently going on. We will use fictitious names to protect the innocent but most of you will be able to figure out some similarities with the real folks!
Monday, December 9th in the town of Montgomery found Ms. Beasly the antique Guru pacing nervously wondering why she had only received three phone calls in such a long stretch of time- Five Whole Minutes! Ms. Beasly is in such demand that she weights herself down with all of the latest high-tech cell phone gizmo’s known to man. Her better half “Fuzzy Boll Weevil” is probably a major stockholder in most of the cell phone companies in the world!
Meanwhile, Floyd and Fancy Casenburger, the steakhouse moguls were all abuzz about the special guest they had in their culinary den Friday night. It seems that the jolly old elf himself “Kris Kringle” a.k.a Santa Claus walked into a packed house and visited diners, made phone calls to California for two patrons and even had the whole place singing “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” fun was had by all!
Speaking of Santa, Christmas is just around the corner and all the merchants are gearing up for this weekend’s festivities including Breakfast with Santa, a grand parade starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 14, the annual “Cookie Walk” at the “Bells of Montgomery” and the very popular Home Tour. Come and visit Montgomery and join the fun. Some surprises could be in store!
This roving reporter will be out and about checking on the happenings. If any of you might be thinking of something different as a gift, I invite you to visit “Colours” its located next to the Steakhouse and owner “Candy Lawler” will assist you with handpainting and firing your choice in the kiln. Hey go by and see what I’m talking about. You might see the “Ravishing” blue-eyed hunkett that’s been seen there lately.
Tune in next week and find out why “Robby Slaggerman” is driving around in “Diesal Dan”.
From “Montgomery’s Sagebrush Philosopher” until next time, Good Cow Call’n. Good Frog Gigg’n and Go Ags.
