| Curran Events Merry Christmas Ya’ll! Last week I ask who all had the Christmas Spirit and since that time I know it’s alive and well in the area! Saturday, December 15, 2001 I attended the First Annual Christmas in Dobbin at the Dobbin Community Center and thanks to the hard work of many it was a great success. Congratulations should go out to Linda Mock for spearheading the event and to all the other volunteers who gave graciously of their time. Sempra Energy’s Anya McInnis gets my vote for a Way To Go as she got Sempra to help sponsor the event. Anya, besides being a very beautiful lady, has a Huge Heart! So if you’ve not met her, try to do so and thank her for the help. Also if any of you missed the event you did not get to see all the holiday faces around the community center. Thanks to the masterful art work of Dawn Hancock most of the kids and some adults had their faces painted by her. I thought she was painting by numbers, but she was doing it all free-hand. Dawn you are just great. Thanks should also go to the Co-Sponsor of the event The West Montgomery County Support Group, they are a great group pf people whom raise money for our 4-H & FFA children each year. The members spend countless hours organizing fund raisers so that the children of West Montgomery County have a place to sell their animals if they fail to make it to the MCFA Auction Sale. Thanks to all of you. I’m sure there are many other similar events taking place all over Montgomery County but this one was special because it was in our community. Speaking of such events, Good Luck to Montgomery Police Chief Jackie McDonald as the MPD is accepting donations of non-perishable food items and toys to be given to two (or more if donations are plentiful) needy families in Montgomery. It’s wonderful to see Hearts open up at this time of year. Thank Chief McDonald. I could blubber on about other events but ya’ll get the picture. Peace on Earth and Good Will Toward Men. Hope all of ya’ll have a good Holiday Season, may you all have the spirit of the season....be safe, enjoy and put aside some time to worship at a place of your choice, our time on this Earth is way too short for us to worry over trivial matters and last but far from least, say a prayer for our men and women who will miss being home and with their families as they serve and protect our country. God Bless and Watch Over Them. This article will resume after the first of the year. God Bless and Happy Holidays! From Montgomery’s Sagebrush Philosopher. Until next time Good Cow Call’n. Good Frog Gigg’n and Go Ags! Adios |
