Hey Ya’ll, hope all is well and I know that you’re keeping your "New Years" resolution--Yeah right! Personally I’ve lost some weight since the first but I have a long way to go. The key to my admitting my weight problem was helped along by a photograph that was taken of me. The photo showed me walking toward the barn and I was so broad you couldn’t see the side of the barn! I’ve been challenged to lose fifty pounds and I’m going to do it. Good luck to the rest of you.

God Bless America that seems to be the rally cry of all American citizens today and even those who are not citizens find themselves using this Patriotic phrase. Lets set aside our religious argumentation, our political beliefs and our cultural differences and hope that the use of this phrase can make a difference. My Mother gave me a little book for Christmas called "The Prayer of Jabez" ant its lesson is simple- Its writer has a simple request to all that read this paper regularly. At least once a day take the time to say God Bless America.

The skyline is coming. The skyline is coming. No, not falling but rather the skyline is coming. It won’t be long before Montgomery has its very own skyline- Wow! Just like Houston! The corner shopping center is approaching final readiness and will be open before we know it. Let’s all hope that it will bring prosperity to the City of Montgomery and provide jobs for local residents. I know that much needed tax revenues can help the infrastructure i.e. upgrade sewer and water systems and a growth in population. But it will also present some problems-- How will the increased population affect traffic? Can the existing roads handle the increase? Can we expect crime to increase? On the latter, Montgomery will need to look at expanding the force to meet the need and many of us hope this is a priority and one that has already been discussed.

Well spring is just about sprang- Wow time passes fast. Maybe its because I’m soon to be fifty-four that I think that, who knows. Anyway how many of you have noticed all the fly-like bugs congregated on your tree limbs? Cody and I noticed them and ask Stuart for help. He told us that the experts can’t explain the over abundance of them this year, but stated that a good hard rain will wash them away. Once they have been knocked to the ground its difficult for them to get back into the tree. The application of a good all purpose insecticide around the trees should help the problem.

That’s about all I have for now, except Hello to Dr. Warren at Lake Conroe Medical Clinic, let’s just say that you handled things real well. Expect some comments about Lucy and Ethyl in weeks to come, tell "Cowboy Bill" he’ll be in the paper soon but he did want to know if Bea’s phone is welded to her ear!

From Montgomery’s Sagebrush Philosopher. Until next time. Good Cow Call’n. Good Frog Gigg’n and Go Ags.
