Ain't Rural Life Grand!

Hey Ya’ll! Well this is either National Health Awareness week or it needed to be. Best wishes go out to Bob Peel as he recovers at home after having a heart attack last week. When talking to Bob he didn’t know until he laid down on his couch early Thursday morning that he had a severe problem, but anyway thanks to Shirley, son Chris and brother Tom, Bob will be ok. All the details I’ll let him tell ya’ll. Also good wishes to Tommy Binford’s Dad, as he has been hospitalized lately, but Bud is tough so he’ll be ok. Tommy’s step-mom was also in the hospital at the same time as Bud, no details at this time. Longtime Montgomery County Rancher Leonard McDonald just went through a tough operation but is doing ok. Best wishes Mr. Mac! Friend of mine Larry Harper just had a triple by-pass surgery and is doing ok, but this comes on the heels of a two year recovery from falling from a building and told he would never walk again. Larry is walking and like our friend Trevor Shockly buck’d the odds! Hang in there Larry! Many of ya’ll know Big John Leonard, well he just had a successful operation that removed his prostrate. Good luck Big John! That enough, No more sickness!

Hey, hope alls ok out at IceWorks as the severe weather Sunday night, early Monday morning took a toll on their place, breaking trees and taking out power, something that Jay really needs as he makes his living carving ice! Carol said she thought her teeth were coming out until she realized that was the TV antennae being knocked onto the house and some of the back windows being blown out! Anyway after visiting with them both agreed tree limbs could be picked up and power could be restored, Thank God no one was injured. Several other locations along FM 2854, Rabon Chapel, Old 105 (speaking of Old 105- I hope Mom and Pop Driver are ok as their place took a big hit) and Sh 105 into Conroe suffered damage but no reports of injury. Dr. Neil Frank can talk about wind-sheer all he wants but this was TWISTER damage!

Mr. Allan Arnold wanted to thank all of the people of Montgomery and especially Dobbin for their help in finding a lost Sheltie. Unfortunately "Bell" was found shot and she is now in "Doggie Heaven". He especially wanted to thank a young man from Dobbin, Allan couldn’t recall the young mans name but he drove a white pick up truck. He stayed with "Bell" after finding her until Allan could arrive. People helping people-- ain’t rural life grand!!

From Montgomery’s Sagebrush Philosopher, Until next time. Good Cow Call’n. Good Frog Gigg’n and Go Ags.
