Hey Ya’ll! Well the Fair is over and Easter is behind us and many of you are looking forward to vacation time. Recently, while working in my office at MCN I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Sharon Faison, many of you know her from the Travel article she writes for MCN. If any of you want to try something new for a vacation get with her and let her help you organize a cruise, she can get you some good deals. She will be helping some of us local cowboy types prepare a Cowboy Carnival Cruise complete with cattle horses and trucks with welded trailers! No manure--it’s true.!

Thanks to the West Montgomery Support Group as they held their annual Freezer Sale Saturday, March 30 at the FFA Barn behind Montgomery High School. Although small in entries, once again the support group along with a number of local buyers supported our youth by purchasing their animals that did not make the MCFA auction sale. Thanks go out to the Support Group and I encourage all of you to become involved. For more information you can contact MCN and they can give you a number to call.

If any of you drove by King’s Cafe on Saturday you may have seen the first ever meeting of the Sidewalk Cafe Cowboy Forum anchored by Stuart Traylor, Curtis Golden, Cody Bowen, Markie Heintz and yours truly. We were busy giving out advice and securing reservations for the crowd going in and out of Kings. Many locals waved at us as they passed by and we encourage any who wishes to participate to be there this Saturday for all the news on local and national matters. By the way all the gunshots you may have heard Saturday were coming from the Old Cotton Gin as Bea "Mrs. GTE USA" Rouse hosted a Grand Opening at the location on FM 149 south by the Depot restaurant. "Cotton" Rouse and his band of gunmen more commonly known as The Commanchero’s were there putting on their Old West skits. Good luck to Bea!

My old pard Tommy Imhoff is sure a talented parts man. I was in his Montgomery Auto Parts store Saturday afternoon listening to him decipher instructions from husbands to wives for auto parts. One such lady produced some bolts and told Tommy she wanted some exactly like the ones she brought in. After some explanations Tommy convinced her that the ones she was buying were the right ones, even though they had New Threads! Office Kelly left with a bundle of parts to rebuild his mower. He claimed he was taking them home and placing them into the seat of the mower and instruct his wife how to install them, he was going to the Fire House. Right, Kelly! Stacey Sharp has an interesting story to tell ya’ll about her upcoming event in June. Dale Harris and I recently had lunch together and discussed some old times, he sure misses Mr. Johnny. Many of you have asked what the new road on SH 105 just west of Walden Road is all about. The Rampy’s donated access at the location and it will go to the new MISD school soon to be constructed.

Another young life was taken recently down in The Woodlands. According to press reports the young 16 year old driver was driving on Grogans Mill Road, hit a tree and took his life. Summer is not far away and many of our youth will be on the road. Parents please discuss with your children the importance of driving safely.

From Montgomery’s Sagebrush Philosopher, Until next time. Good Cow Call’n. Good Frog Gigg’n and Go Ags.
