Hey Ya’ll!

How in the world are you? I’ve been doing a little travelling lately and visited with some folks I don’t see too often. Last week I went by the "Holder Corporate Headquarters" and talked with Bobby Holder ya’ll go by and have a "Burger" with him at "Holder’s Grub Wagon" their good. In the coming days I plan on going by and getting an awesome BBQ sandwich from "Junior" at McMocks and I also plan on spending a little time at Hoffarts, one of our area’s last standing "bastion" of a simpler time. Recently I also spoke with Kenny Lewis one of our area’s exceptional Cowboy Poets and with Fred "Jackrabbit" McMurry, quite a storyteller and poet himself. We visited last Saturday at the Frontier Days event at the Old Cotton Gin! Bea, Edna Pearl, Barbara, Ronnie and others worked hard to put it together. The crowds were slim but it did not dampen their spirits. Folks in this area are just not being drawn to this type of event. WHY? I just don’t have an answer for you.

A HUGE WAY TO GO to Montgomery’s new Police Chief Mr. CHAPMAN BABER! Chief Baber has been with the MPD for some time even served as Interim Chief on other occasions and is a dedicated Law Enforcement Officer. Not only will Chief Baber be good for the image of Montgomery but I think he will dedicate himself to the youth of our area. Good luck, Chief Baber!

I also spoke to Lanny Moriarty and he’s beefing up his engagements and hitting the campaign trail as he prepares for the November election. Personally I believe he will be a great Justice of the Peace and Lanny also has a dedication to our youth. Ya’ll go vote!

From "Montgomery’s Sagebrush Philosopher" until next time Good Cow Call’n. Good Frog Gigg’n and Go Ag’s.
