The suspect had abandoned his vehicle in hopes of escaping law enforcements by running on foot in the woods.
City of Montgomery Police Officer, Bobby Bodden, had proceeded to chase after the suspect. Once Bodden had caught the burglar a scuffle had began where the robber was able to get the officer's taser and assaulted him with his own weapon.
After the Officer Bodden was tasered he had shot the suspect twice.
According to the City of Montgomery Chief of Police Kenneth Hudgens, "Officer Bodden was in fear of his life".
Both officer and suspect were transported to Conroe Regional Medical Center. Officer Bodden was released from the hospital Tuesday afternoon. As of press time the suspect was currently in surgery.
This investigation is being conducted by the Texas Rangers with the assistance of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Major Crime Unit, along with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Units and representatives from the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office.
